Safir Hotel & Residences win nine medals, 11 certificates in HORECA 2018

Safir Hotel & Residences Kuwait – Fintas participated in HORECA Kuwait for the fourth consecutive year. The annual exhibition has become a hallmark across the hospitality, catering and food industry in Kuwait and the region. Safir Hotel & Residences Kuwait – Fintas culinary & housekeeping team was recognized as a winner in 14 categories, bagging 2Silver, 7Bronze medals and 11 Merit Certificates. The winners of the competition walked away with several prizes and accolades. Chef Abdul Hameed Abdul Kadher won a Silver Medal in the “Kuwaiti Traditional Dish” category, in addition to 2 Bronze Medals in the “Asian Cuisine” & in the “Fresh Pasta” categories. Pubudu Samarasooriyage won a Bronze Medal in the “Wedding Cake” category, Shreeni Paramban won 2 Bronze Medals in the “Theme Celebration Cake” category& “Fruit Vegetable Carving” category, and Rafa Bou Hamdan won a Bronze Medal in the “Best Burger” Category. The hotel’s participants from the culinary team also won nine merit certificates; Pubudu Samarasooriyage won the “Bread Creations”, Manjula won in both the “Best …clair” and “Three Plated Dessert”, Negmeldin Ahmed won in both the “Hot & Cold Mezzeh”& “Best Burger” categories, Abdul Hameed Abdul Kadher won the “Mystery Basket”, Bishnu won the “Kuwaiti Traditional Dish”, each of Abdulaziz, Mani and Shinoj are won the “Cold Sandwich-Making Competition” category. HORECA Kuwait 2018 has also introduced the “Bed Making Competition” which included our Housekeeping Team for the first time who won 1 Sliver Medal by Ratul Mondal, 1 Bronze Medal by Marcus Freddy Fernandes and 1 Merit Certificate by Shakhi Ullah Shami. The event, which was held from the 15th – 17th January 2018, included a culinary art show, cooking competition and Bed Making Competition. More than 15 different and innovative categories were listed for the competitors to participate and compete in. Throughout the exhibition, more than 300 chefs participated in the competition that was judged by a distinguished panel of 13 international judges. In an invitation initiated by Saif Eddin Mohammed – General Manager, the culinary & housekeeping team along with the family of SafirHotel & Residences Kuwait – Fintas headed by the Executive Sous Chef – Wissam Kasdallah &Assistant Executive Housekeeper- Satish Konduru, celebrated their achievements with appreciation certificates and valuable prizes during a luncheon get-together.
